Glitter Fade + 3D Stars!

I love doing glitter acrylix mixes like this but I don't know why I still do it since I get sick of them in like 2 days, and you can't take them off like nail polish. Anyways, I did four different color mixes with my Martha Stewart glitters, the pink/silver is called Kunzite, the purple/silver is called Purple Sapphire, the green/silver and green/gold is Golden Beryl mixed with Peridot (my August birthstone!) and the turquoise is of course Turquoise.

I have a few thousand of these flat star confetti, which look really cool embedded under the acrylic.

Hopefully I'll figure out a way to do nail art somehow on top of this nail design when I get super bored of them.

Also, I'm having problems with my computer! I've been looking at everyones blog but I can't comment! When I write a comment on your post, it asks me to sign in, then I sign in again and it keeps putting me in a loop! So I'm sorry, to my fav bloggers, I am reading you but I can't talk to you- if anyone knows how to help, it would be greatly appreciated!

Pokeballs!

So my girlfriend Chrissy is going to Fanime this weekend and is dressing up as Pikachu, so we looked up different Pokeballs to put on her nails! There are sooooo many different kinds! I thought there was only one (the red and white one). Well, I'm not going to list the names of the different Pokeballs since I really am not familiar with any of them.

Pikachu! I choose you!!!

Checkers and Marker Henna

I painted my nails this dark purple color that doesn't have a name, and was inspired to draw a henna design on my hands and arms (get this) inspired by my henna-inspired nails lol!!

I think it came out alright (my marker henna), I hopefully want to get into doing actual mehndi on my friends' hands as soon as this summer. I'm just getting my practice on!

I painted on light purple checkers on my ring finger (to cover up a chip of the dark purple that had fallen off). It came out alright, considering it's hard to paint on perfect squares as you all know. Especially hard since my hands were shaky due to a severe coffee buzz from earlier. Well lemme know what you think!

Pink Wednesday: Stripes and Zebra Stripes

I'm really running out of pinks for Pink Wednesdays because all my pinks are hot or bright pinks and they all show up the same or really similar in pictures! This is OPIs Elephantastic Pink that Chrissy keeps leaving at my house. I painted my nails white, then a big bold stripe of pink diagonally, then I painted on zebras and out lined the pink with more black and added the stripes. I'm really proud of myself for taking my time on the straight stripes. Sometimes when I work too fast, I make them uneven and they look really bad, but this is good enough for me. Happy Pink Wednesday! and go to http://www.onwednesdayswewearpink.com to join us!

Henna Inspired (NATURAL) Design!

For those of you TV junkies like myself, you know that the season finale of the first season of Outsourced was last week; Rajiv got married and they had a big long Indian wedding episode with a segment where all the women did henna on their hands and arms for a day! I was so inspired I almost started drawing all over my hand with a brown marker.

I started with Sinful Colors "This Is It" gold nail polish with two coats, then painted swirlies, leaves, flowers, paisleys, and dots all over the gold leaving enough room to see the background color.

If you can't already tell, I have pulled off my acrylics and posted my natural nails for the first time...prolly ever on my blog. If you see natural nails on here, they are probably Chrissy or Oddrey's hands.
The most recent set of acrylics I had put on during Mardi Gras, so they had grown out quite a bit. When I pulled the acrylic (carefully) off my nails, they were perfectly squared tips , so they look just like they did with the acrylics on, only thinner!

As you can see in the bottom picture, I angled my nails to show you how thin they are after pulling the acrylic off. I just painted on one coat of white for ultra original French tips for the photo, and 2 coats of Seche Vite Dry-Fast top coat!

Let's see how long I can go before applying a full set again.

The Incredible Hulk

Oh man, this took forever. Oddrey wanted the Incredible Hulk nails and we had to paint the "Marvel" thumb 3 times because I didn't leave enough room, the Hulk eye pointer finger 2 times because the first eye looked like a zombie, and the Hulk spread over 3 nails... I'm pretty happy with the way it came out though!

San Francisco BAY TO BREAKERS Nails!

YAYYYY! Bay To Breakers 100th year is coming up this Sunday!!! For those of you who don't know, Bay To Breakers is an annual footrace here in San Francisco, CA. It is 12K (7miles) and runs from the Embarcadero (the bay) to Ocean Beach (where the waves break)! This will be my 3rd year (not running; walking and getting drunk) and I am very very excited for this very special milestone in SF history!

Here on my nails, I've done a little Golden Gate Bridge on my thumb, and Bay To Breakers 100 on the rest of the nails. You can't see it very well but I tried to tie-dye the backgrounds of my four fingers.

Here's a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge- note: I forgot top coat, this would have been SUCH a nice turnout without the brush stroke marks :( .

OK I kinda messed up this post, but the picture in the middle is me and my boyfriend at B2B 2010, which was the 99th year! Yay, that's also when I JUST started doing nail art too. My blogiversary is coming up soon!

Pink Wednesday: Floral Print Tips

In honor of Pink Wednesday, I decided to work on my floral print again. It still kinda looks like my last floral print, I guess I'll have to just keep working at it.

I also decided to do this color "Dreamy Poppy" by Wet N Wild as the pink in the background because it is similar to Pantone's 2011 Color of the Year "Honeysuckle" which is a purple-pink coral color.

Hawaiian Flower Copycat

I got the idea to do a Hawaiian flower design from Annelise at http://www.nonakednails.com She is so cute, check out her original post here: http://www.nonakednails.com/2011/05/hawaiian-flowers.html. I used my new polish Wet N Wild's NERDS need Love Too. Then went at it with my dotting tool to make the petals and drag them into the center of each flower. I'm having a nail artist's block and can't figure out what to do now. If yall have any suggestions, let me know! I need inspiration.

Floral Print on Creme de Menthe

So, I guess I wasn't happy with the roses I did for Chrissy's birthday a few posts back so I redid it on my first (unpublished) franken (never photo-ed) called Mint Julep. Note that I made it in a Seche Vite bottle. I do not reccomend anyone do this is in a Seche Vite Dry-Fast Top Coat bottle, because, while it was easy to mix, it thickened up quite fast. It was almost unusable after 2 weeks.

I still am not happy with the roses, or whatever kind of flower they are, but I like the color scheme, and I will definitely be posting a new floral print soon when I am satisfied with the result. Practice makes perfect.

I Can Make Your Bedrock!

My name's not Fred Flintstone, but I can make your Bedrock!

I guess I named this design after one of my favorite pickup lines and the fact that it kinda reminded me of something Wilma would wear on a Saturday night.

It's Jessie's Girl in Baby Cakes (the hot pink) and my franken Ashy Wang. Baby Cakes looks Ama-Za-Zing!!! in daylight. Maybe I'll snap a picture of it tomorrow.

Drip drip drip!

So, wanted to try out the drip nail trend. I like it, but I would never wear this out for a whole day because it only looks cool when posin for a picture.

On my pointer finger I did a grey with a pink french tip with the black drips on top.

Nothing else to say I guess... ><

Argyle + Franken Bottle

So here's a picture of the franken Chrissy and I made called "Ashy Wang", although I just thought "Ash Wangsday" would be funnier.

I made little boxes of black and "Elephantastic Pink" by OPI. then little stripes of shimmery gold "This Is It" by Sinful Colors.

If you go back to like my 2nd or 3rd post ever I did an argyle design, but I'm still not happy with the way this turned out so I think I'm going to try again, and maybe post if it gets better.

Franken No. 1 - Ashy Wang

WARNING: TOE PICTURE!!!!!!

So Chrissy and I needed grey nail polish and there was none at Rite Aid, so we bought white polish and added black to it to make this GREY (not the blue) in this picture. The blue is Wet N Wild's NERDS Need Love Too.

We sat there and shook polish for what seemed like forever and then we decided to name it Ashy Wang No. 1 because it looks kinda ashy and Chrissy's name is Wang. Anyways, sorry, for showing my toes! But for the first time in nail blog history, I painted my nails to match my feet! Hope I didn't terrify anyone with an upclose picture of my monkey paws....

Stolen: Sweet Memories

Literally, I stole this out of my boyfriend's mom's room. (I'll put it back where I found it.) But it was just too pretty for me not to try it on. It's OPI's "Sweet Memories" Ahhhh its such a soft pretty pale white-pink. I had to put on almost 4 coats to have it cover up the remnants of my purple glitter tips from 2 weeks ago.

It's so pretty I want want WANT this exact polish for my self. It's so pretty I did a swatch, and I never post swatches!

Challenge Tag!

Alright, so I got tagged in a Challenge to blindly pick 3 colors out of my polish stash and do a design with them! Leslie over at Nail Polish Art Addiction tagged me, and I must confess: I almost cheated. 5 times I picked colors and kept throwing them back in so I had to have my boyfriend reach in and grab three colors. As usual, I was disappointed in the colors which is why I did this:

1. I painted my French tips on with a neon green.

2. Made random swirly lines with a sparkly brown.

3. I really didn't want to use the red so I lined just the very edge of the nail with it! Pretty sly, huh? You can only see the red from a certain angle, and yknow what? I actually think it looks pretty cool! You might see this technique popping up in my blog later on.
The colors my boyfriend picked from my stash in one handful were:

LA Girl Disco Brites in "Can U Dig It?"

LA Colors Art Deco in "Red"

OPI's "Meet Me On The Star Ferry"

And to top all of it off, I have to tag someone else to do this challenge and I'm going with :

Emily's Nail Files at emilysnailfiles.blogspot.com

Colores de Carol at coloresdecarol.com

and last but not least Manicured Monkey at manicuredmonkey.blogspot.com

Because they are all super talented ladies!

ALSO CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME DO THIS: everytime I try to embed a link it doesn't work. I need help!!!

Pink Poodles for Pink Wednesday!

I'm in my hometown of Pleasanton, CA where my boyfriend and I are dogsitting his mom's very cute poodle, Jake. So I decided to do a poodle silhouette nail design in honor of Jake (even though he's a boy). I used OPI's Aphrodite's Pink Nightie, which is a little streaky, but it's a dainty and very feminine pink, so it's nice with the poodles.

Also, hi Julie! I just had coffee with you! <3

This is Jake. I can't believe he actually was standing still for a second.

Nautical Awesome-ness

I was at Forever21 and saw so much blue-and-white and red-and-white striped tops and dresses, all decked out with gold chains and anchors because, to no surprise to anyone, nautical stuff is still in.

I decided to a nautical nail design because I hope this will be the last summer that it's poppin because I don't look good in horizontal stripes. (hence, the V-tips)

Enjoy! I mean Ahoy!

Yellow and Orange Flowers

So I filed my nails down super short and decided to paint them instead of doing tips. I thought I might be playing the piano in the next two weeks while my bf and I are house sitting his parents place.

I dunno how I feel about this but, it was fun for a day.
